The National Interpools 2025 got off to an exciting start at the FECAFOOT Technical Center in Odza, where Kumba City FC, representing the South West Region, registered an emphatic 3-1 victory over Diamant FC of Yagoua.
The match began at a high tempo with Kumba City’s Vadoline Wafou breaking the deadlock in the 8th minute. Diamant FC responded in the 31st minute through Nouho Wazou, who brought the scores level. Just six minutes later, Kumba City reclaimed the lead when Pento Much converted a penalty, giving the South West side a 2-1 advantage before halftime.
In the second half, Enow Nkar struck in the 75th minute to seal a convincing 3-1 win for Kumba City FC at the final whistle.
The result pushed Kumba City FC to the top of Pool A with three points and a +2 goal difference. They share the lead with Sable FC, who also picked up maximum points after defeating AS Olympique 2-0.
Diamant FC of Yagoua and Olympique de Meiganga find themselves at the bottom of the table with no points after their opening fixtures, while Mintack FC de la Haute Sanaga is yet to play.
In Pool B, Titanic FC Samar claimed the best start after outclassing Ntoung Nguoong with a 3-0 victory to lead the standings with three points and a +3 goal difference.
Dream Team followed closely with three points after edging Epervier 2-1 in another competitive clash. With four rounds of matches still to come, the battle for qualification into the next stage remains wide open across both groups.
